Patna: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Patna centre has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for several north-eastern districts of Bihar, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the upcoming weekend. Districts including Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia, and Katihar are expected to be the most affected. The weather department has warned of potential waterlogging in low-lying areas and has advised citizens, especially farmers, to take necessary precautions. The alert is in effect from Saturday morning for the next 48 hours.
